Our Audio Page!

We spent Easter Saturday 2019 at The Grange Recording Studios, near Cockley Cley, on the far side of the county. The band assembled at around 11:00. Having seen what the band comprised, Dave Williams, the studio owner, then set out the studio ready for recording, while the hospitable Sue, Dave's wife, provided drinks and sandwiches to keep us going.

After some necessary sound checks the recording was done "live" with all of us sat or standing in a circle just as we do when rehearsing.

Our Audio Sampler

What you hear in our sampler are snippets from four songs. They are designed to indicate our vocal and instrumental style. We start with the opening of a traditional song Crying Holy Unto The Lord sometimes known as "On The Rock Where Moses Stood". We move into Egyptian Sand, a song written by our guitarist, Gary, that helped inspire the band's name. You then hear the slow and powerful I Can't Even Walk, a song written in 1975 by Colbert and Joyce Croft. This morphs into the tail end of another number by Gary, David's Song. When you hear the whole song you'll realise that the lyrics are taken from Psalm 18, hence its title. Finally, we return to hear the a cappella and final choruses from "Crying Holy".

The CD that has emerged from our session is now available to send out to those who might wish to book the band. Those seeing us live may also be able to buy a copy - if there are any left!
